HeartShare Wellness offers a range of specialty medical services for our patients, with the same goal of outstanding and dignified care.

Pediatric, Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry

HeartShare Wellness is pleased to have a team of talented psychiatrists at the clinic with expertise in all ages and types of disability. Our psychiatrists offer comprehensive psychiatric services that include diagnosing psychiatric illness and selecting and implementing pharmacologic treatment. Through a comprehensive assessment, individuals with psychiatric illness and/or behavioral symptoms can be identified and offered appropriate treatment. The psychiatrist will determine appropriate medication to alleviate patient symptoms, prescribing and providing ongoing medication management with monitoring for continued use, dosage, toxicity, and adverse reactions.

Podiatry

HeartShare Wellness's well-trained and experienced podiatrists treat the full range of foot ailments, including ankle injuries, bunions, neuromas, toe deformities, fungal infections, nail removals, debridement, and removal of corns and calluses. They are often the first health professionals to diagnose vascular problems that have previously gone unrecognized. Our podiatrists also play a key role for our patients in the areas of diabetic foot care and wound healing. When needed, the podiatrist will refer patients for orthotic services, which also are provided onsite.

Neurology

HeartShare Wellness's neurologists offer expert consultative, diagnostic and therapeutic services for a full range of neurological conditions that include cognitive disorders, epilepsy, head trauma, vascular disease, and peripheral neuropathies.

Optometry

HeartShare Wellness has an experienced and long-term optometrist on staff who performs comprehensive examinations of the eyes and their related structures in order to diagnose, treat and manage eyes diseases and injuries. The examination consists of a thorough ocular health assessment including tests for glaucoma, retinal disease, cataracts, and corneal disease.

Testing for glaucoma involves the measurement of the intraocular pressure with the Icare Tonometer, which is a new instrument recently acquired by our clinic to allow us to continue to provide state-of-the-art quality care for all patients. Testing for cataracts and corneal disease is accomplished by using our hand-held slit lamp, which allows for a complete anterior segment health evaluation. Testing for retinal disease involves dilating the pupil and using special lenses and instruments in order to examine 100% of the back of the eye and all associated structures.

Overall, optometry services are a critical part of a patient's health care services, which sometimes leads to the discovery of more serious health conditions.

Gynecology

HeartShare Wellness offers both routine and comprehensive annual gynecological services. Our well-trained practitioners are very sensitive to the individualized needs of our female patients, understanding their level of cognitive functioning as well the discomfort and anxiety they may experience with the examination. Our practitioners' goal is to make the patients as comfortable as possible and provide expert desensitization training when needed.
